With all the technology available today even mediocre singers can sound good, but this is just pure class. I don’t think the average person can truly appreciate how good they are.
2022 and still listening. It takes so much talent to produce this. An expat living in South Florida long removed from Essex. I vaguely remember listening to them on BBC 2.
If anyone has this entire concert, I would pay for materials, services, shipping, etc. I watched this on WVIZ and have looked everywhere for it with no success. Thanks in advance.
By far, my favorite line-up of the King's Singers. Countertenors Jeremy Jackman and Alastair Hume, tenor Bill Ives, baritones Tony Holt and Simon Carrington, and bass Brian Kay. I was lucky enough to record this 1982 broadcast and have converted it to digital for my enjoyment. I watch/play the program every year at Christmas time. I attended a concert they gave a few years later. Colin Mason was a good replacement for Brian Kay. Bob Chilcott was not even close to matching Bill Ives' melodic timbre. Still, one of my favorite vocal groups.
@@janetaldrich7747 Simon Carrington has been a regular guest at my inn ... he is a conductor and currently rehearsing with the University of Northern Colorado choir to perform Elijah! The most delightful chap.. and still so talented!! I fondly remember the Kings Singers being regulars on the variety shows when i was akid. happy days!
Pentatonix copiers
Who does the arrangements for this? Absolutely amazing.
The most fantastic and fun of all the King's Singers' songs. Love this one. Thanks for posting.
they walked so pentatonix can run 🫡
When he said doodle-de doodle-de doo -- ...I felt that.
Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall Humpty Dumpty had a great big fall All the king's singers and other king's men Couldn't put Humpty together again.

Pee-Wee Herman, Eduard Khil, Bill Nye, Tom Cruiser, and Tony Soprano are surprisingly good singers

Bill Ives, later Director of Music at Magdalen Oxford and a very fine composer.

I like that song, but isn’t it actually offensive?
Lena Storm I'd say it's only 60% offensive.
Please tell me you have the rest of this program! It was on tape when I grew up and got destroyed!
He's called Jeremy Jackman.
Human voice. Awesome. Versatile.Awe-inspiring! =)
The three guys on the left look like C3PO if he was human, a cheap Emperor Palpatine and Anakin Skywalker with really bulgy eyes, but this is amazing.
That moment when all the king singers rip on Grayston Ives for a song.... :P
Poor ikkle Bill :(
This isn't as impressive when i attempt this by myself lol

5'6 people got no reason to live
That's not short.
Insomniyac if you think that’s short try being 5’2 or smaller
it's so good
Sing it with pride, Bill Ives!
What happened to 'tiddley-poo'?
Very nice.
People were skinnier back then.

3:25 I've never heard "D**g! D**g!" in such great harmony!
Boy, there's a lot of didly here!
I can't help it; but every time I see a person struggling to reach something because they're vertically challenged, this song comes to mind.
Vertically challenged
Hahahahaha!
Lol XD so hilarious!
Bill Ives voice is amazing !
We're singing this in choir! I love this song. They're such a great group.
The soprano looks like David Tennant and Christopher Eckleson put together.
+The TyeGuy Yes, he does!
His name is Jeremy Jackman and the proper term is 'counter-tenor'.
Super beau prendre le temps d aller jusqu'au bout.
lol! This is brilliant! Diddly diddly diddly......
3:13 Does anyone else hear that sweet cord they create in the start of that finishing run
